questions to ask regarding representation:
- who is in control of the representations in the text? whose values and ideas are 'spoken'? (whose point of view is it from)
- what values and ideas do the text speak about? how does it engage with issues?
- are characters simply types (stereotypes, countertypes, archetypes) or rounded individuals?
